Cheseaux, October 24, 2005 - Nagravision, the world's leading independent provider of value-added content protection, today announces a collaboration with T-Mobile Czech Republic in the framework of T-Mobile's test of DVB-H Mobile TV service in partnership with key mobile industry players.
DVB-H is the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) standard for Mobile TV broadcasting to mobile phones and portable players. The technology, designed for reception on low-powered devices, uses the DVB terrestrial spectrum. The first commercial deployments are expected in 2006 and could rapidly reach mass market, with significant subscribers volumes.
For Nagravision this represents an opportunity to work with one of the world's largest mobile network operators in the development of the Nagravision's Mobile TV conditional access solution.
More details on this solution can be found in T-Mobile's press release attached.
