Cheseaux, Switzerland – August 25, 2016 – At IBC 2016, on stand 1.C81, NAGRA, a Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) company and the world's leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen television solutions, will feature a wide range of solutions and use cases designed to help service providers deliver a secure, engaging and efficient pay-TV experience for today’s video consumer. Demonstrations will include NAGRA’s cutting-edge content protection technology and next-generation products that optimize the TV viewing experience, supported by cloud-ready platforms that enable rapid innovation and smart operations.

“Successfully connecting people to the content they love requires putting the consumer at the center of the pay-TV experience with intuitive access to the best content, all in one place. On the business side, it is also about optimizing operations and helping secure the business model of the service provider,” said Ivan Verbesselt, SVP Group Marketing at NAGRA. “Innovation plays a big role in all of these aspects and is at the core of our IBC showcase with tightly integrated solutions that deliver a secure, engaging and efficient pay-TV experience.”

Technologies on display are designed and packaged to address three key service provider challenges: raising Net Promoter Score (NPS) by improving customer satisfaction through engaging and immersive user experiences; reducing churn through a better experience and pertinent market offer; and improving operational efficiencies allowing for faster service innovation and optimised platform operations.

Secure: 360-Degree Content Protection
As mainstream viewing behaviour gradually embraces all screens, new threats and security requirements continue to emerge, calling for an increasingly holistic approach to content protection. To help service providers manage risks and enable new business opportunities, NAGRA has conceived its new range of 360-degree content protection technology and services addressing a broad variety of service provider use cases, across all screens and devices.

NAGRA will showcase its anti-piracy security services leveraging scalable automated online detection through advanced watermarking technology as well as shutdown activities to broadly protect pay-TV service provider business models.

Engaging: A World where TV is made Simple
In a world where the TV consumer is faced with too many apps, content fragmentation and an over-abundance of TV solutions to choose from, NAGRA will showcase a range of immersive user interface concepts that can help pay-TV operators amplify and simplify the consumer TV proposition to make it a less stressful and more enjoyable experience.

The latest intuiTV “TV-as-a-Service” (TVaaS) solution will show how pay-TV operators can harness live TV, VOD and OTT services with an all-in-one pay-TV service that simplifies the consumer experience. This latest version integrates additional features and services from partners such as Metrological, Wurl, Voxtok, as well as the latest Netflix 4K Ultra HD HDR application for a spectacular viewing experience.

Efficient: The Foundations for Rapid Innovation and Smart Operations
Quickly adapting to TV consumer needs for an on-demand and all-screen TV experience requires a new set of underlying technologies to drive rapid innovation and optimize TV delivery. NAGRA will highlight how its anyCAST and MediaLive security and business services platforms, leveraging IP, cloud and data technologies, can efficiently enable service providers to smartly deliver, evolve and operate their TV services. NAGRA solutions also leverage data science to go beyond analytics, turning insight into actionable business decisions and actions that directly contribute to business performance.

Smart Devices
Kudelski Group subsidiary SmarDTV will complement the NAGRA showcase, highlighting its latest range of interactive TV modules and set-top boxes supporting 4K Ultra HD, Android and HbbTV, as well as several major product enhancements for their Conditional Access Modules (CAM) product line, integrated with NAGRA anyCAST and MediaLive Suite products.
