NAGRA Showcases Latest Innovations in Content Protection and User Experience at TV Connect 2017

Cheseaux, Switzerland – March 16, 2017 – NAGRA, a Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) company, the world's leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen television solutions, will demonstrate an array of solutions designed to simplify the all-screen viewing experience and connect people to the content they love at TV Connect 2017, March 28-30 at the ExCeL London. NAGRA representatives will also be featured speakers in three sessions of the TV Connect Congress covering topics ranging from pay-TV innovation to big data and live sports piracy.

“The pay-TV industry continues to evolve at a fast pace and now more than ever, service providers are faced with making key decisions to stay relevant,” said Ivan Verbesselt, SVP Group Marketing for NAGRA. “Easy access to content, engaging user experiences, big data strategies and a holistic approach to content and revenue protection will be key in this respect. We look forward to addressing all of these themes at TV Connect, not only through our demonstration showcase but through our featured presentations.”

Demonstrations and highlights on NAGRA VIP Lounge VL11 will include:

  • TVkey: a CES 2017 Innovation Award honoree, this cost-effective USB dongle plugs into newer model Samsung TV sets, enabling consumers to immediately watch their favorite pay-TV channels in 4K Ultra HD and HDR using operator-controlled security and user experience. For operators, TVkey helps lower the barriers to entry for pay-TV services while remaining fully in control of the user experience, and for device manufacturers it helps expand the range of services available on their new TV models.
  • Unified all-screen viewing experiences that gracefully extends across a wide range of home viewing use cases powered by the OpenTV Suite, including a rich and intuitive experience on set-top boxes by SmarDTV as well as popular streaming devices like Roku and Amazon’s FireTV, or elegantly casting OTT content from a mobile device to the TV using the SmarDTV CASTdongle, a simple, cost-optimized HDMI device enabling direct-to-TV services with premium content and an operator-branded UI on modern TV sets.
  • The NAGRA Security Services Platform, the next-generation media protection platform that helps operators leverage new opportunities and business models, manage piracy and cybersecurity risks and create more efficient operations. Combining NAGRA’s multi-device, multi-network service, device and app protection technologies, Hollywood-approved forensic marking techniques from sister company NexGuard and a comprehensive suite of anti-piracy services, the NAGRA Security Services Platform provides holistic content protection for today’s pay-TV providers.
